July 2020
HELLO FRIENDS!
Happy Summer! Not a day goes by that we are not thinking about our Row for the Cure community and hope this finds you, your friends and your families doing well. While many of our activities are on hold, our commitment to the mission of supporting breast cancer research and community programs remains strong, as does our partnership with Susan G. Komen’s local affiliates.
“We can’t do this alone” and “Together we thrive”. These two themes have resonated strongly with our Board as we plan the direction of our organization. To that end we are pleased to announce two national partnerships which will expand our brand awareness and presence.
In October we will unite the rowing community, those impacted by breast cancer, our supporters and partners through the third annual “Pink the Boathouse” campaign in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month. During the first week in August, look for an announcement of the campaign elements with suggestions of how you can get involved. We encourage everyone to put “Pink the Boathouse” on your October calendar. Now more than ever we need to look forward to activities which are both fun and meaningful, which pull us together. We can’t wait!
Thank you to those of you who work with us to make a difference in the lives of so many, especially our volunteer Board of Directors and Brand Ambassadors. We are grateful for your support. As always, please be in touch with your ideas and let us know if you would like to join our team in any capacity.
Together we Thrive,
Beth Kohl

Happy memories from Row for the Cure Poughkeepsie 2019! Traditionally held in June, the event was cancelled this year, but we look forward to welcoming the teams to “Pink the Boathouse” in October and to being on the water in 2021.
Regatta Central Expands Support
Row for the Cure could not exist without Regatta Central. Rowing’s premiere provider of registration and management solutions has extended it’s support of Row for the Cure for three years as our official registrar. But their support goes far beyond the registration process. Steve and his team share our passion and mission and are a trusted partner as we plan for our organization’s growth. We are truly proud to partner with them, and we a are grateful for their long-term support.
Welcome to Our New Partner: MyVictory
We are proud to announce our partnership with MyVictory (myvictory.com), an online health and wellness community offering live and on-demand exercise classes including cardio, Yoga, Pilates, meditation and strength offerings, for cancer survivors and their supporters. The classes are terrific for all levels and we encourage you to sign up for a free 30 day trial. Program information in link below.
Thank You Bill!
Sending the biggest virtual hug and thank you possible to Bill Rooney (seen here with his daughters), who is stepping off our Board after 12 years of service.
Although not a rower, Bill became involved with Row for the Cure back in 2008 when his daughter Nicole and her friend, then both high school rowers, organized the first Row for the Cure event in Poughkeepsie. Bill has been the regatta co-director ever since. Bill has been invaluable to our Board over the years, being a strong facilitator of our growth, helping new event directors learn the ropes, managing our website and always being a voice of reason! We are grateful Bill will remain involved with the organization as a Brand Ambassador.
