The rowing community and its supporters across the U.S. answered the call and got their PINK ON during October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor or memory of those near and dear to us, we rowed, erged, ran, walked, led a team, wore a funky costume, donated, and raised funds as individuals or teams as part of the #PinktheBoathouse Challenge.

While we missed being on the water, this new virtual event allowed everyone the opportunity to be part of Row for the Cure and we were thrilled to welcome hundreds of new participants. Thanks to all of you, we exceeded our goal and will be distributing over $51,000 to 26 local Susan G. Komen affiliates and community cancer programs.

Congratulations and thank you to every participant, supporter, donor and friend!

Together we Thrive!

Row House Stamford, a top fundraising team, captured the moment while completing their 5k row: “We laughed, we cried, felt powerful, and pushed each other to keep going. The members of our crew who finished first cheered and motivated the rest of us to finish. It was simply magical!“

Sincere thanks to our #PinktheBoathouse Challenge Partners:

A special shout out to the USRowing Princeton Training Center athletes and coaches who joined our fight. This team doesn’t stop for anything and neither do we. We wish them all well as they train for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021.

October is over but it doesn’t mean that we have to stop supporting organizations which need us. We will keep the #PinktheBoathouse Challenge page open and offer the opportunity to allow you to funnel your donations to local organizations. RFTC also accepts matching donations. Please consider a match from your corporation. https://www.classy.org/campaign/row-for-the-cure-pinktheboathouse-challenge/c297100

Our work to support local cancer organizations and Komen affiliates continues. Please consider joining us as a volunteer in 2021. In addition to Board members and Brand Ambassadors, we are forming a Pink the Boathouse Committee and would love to have you join us.
